Today's SFI GmbH was formed in 2019 – but our heritage goes back more than 160 years.
Two long-established companies shape our know-how to this day: A. Stotz of Stuttgart and Fredenhagen Maschinenfabrik of Offenbach – two pioneers of German conveyor engineering.

A. Stotz – Stuttgart, founded in 1860
- 1860 Albert Stotz founds the first malleable cast iron works in Stuttgart
- 1876 Entry into conveyor engineering – the first malleable iron chains in Germany
- 1898 Move to a newly built plant in Kornwestheim
- 1913 Conversion into A. Stotz AG (in existence until 1981)
- 1937–1980 First Stotz overhead conveyor system, Stotz skid conveyor system and Stotz electrified monorail
- 2001 Acquisition of cfc Fördersysteme GmbH in Karlsruhe
- 2008 Acquisition of Fredenhagen GmbH & Co. KG in Offenbach
Fredenhagen – Offenbach, founded in 1872
- 1872 Wilhelm Fredenhagen founds Fredenhagen Maschinenfabrik
- 1950 Expansion in custom engineering – supplier to German and international car manufacturers
- 1953 Europe's first power-and-free conveyor systems – leading supplier of overhead monorail systems
- 1989 World's first inclined-capable electrified monorail
- 1995 World's first low-noise power-belt-and-free system
- 2008 Acquisition by Stotz Fördersysteme – Stotz Fredenhagen Industries GmbH is founded
2010 SFI Stotz Fredenhagen Industries GmbH takes over the assets, the entire operating business and the employees of both long-established companies.
2019 – a fresh start as SFI GmbH
In the course of a management buy-out, the long-standing management team takes over the company – today's SFI GmbH.
A fresh start with a well-established team whose specialists have been at home in conveyor engineering for over 30 years.

Our management system is certified by TÜV SÜD to DIN EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001:
Sales, planning, engineering and installation of conveyor systems including control technology and service.
Occupational safety is managed in line with ISO 45001 and the BGHM seal of quality “Sicher mit System”, supplemented by the requirements of VDA 6.4.
